The EMLO's membership reflects the broad range of interests within the organisation, comprising legal practitioners in the EC maritime field, representatives of the maritime sector, government officials and academics.

Because of the impact of EC maritime affairs internationally, the EMLO draws its membership from EC/EEA Member States and other countries worldwide, including the USA and Far East.
